B00K: Who’s That Girl?: A Memoir by Eve

It is such a blessing to read a memoir from a significant storyteller (woman) who is so pivotal to the hip hop movement. The book reads like a friend telling you everything that truly went down behind the scenes of her music and acting career. A lyrical talent of both words and performance, Eve delivered songs that were passionately written about sensitive subjects like domestic violence. Her song “Love Is Blind ft. Faith Evans”, which released in December of ’99, is sadly just a relevant today as the day it was released. While reading her memoir, I learned that shortly after the song was released, she brought her friend Andrea (the woman the song was written about) onto The Queen Latifah Show in 2000 to discuss the relationship that influenced the song. (Scroll down for a clip from the show below, including a performance of the song by Eve.) Also below is an audio clip of the first chapter of the book, read by Eve herself; Eve’s recent Tiny Desk Concert that proves she continues to live her best life; and a few other top music videos from the early 2000’s.
