Strategy, Content, Design, (repeat).

Traditional media started with the written word, then we added images; and now we have audio and moving images to tell our stories.

Before all projects begin, I often have to ask the question: “for what purpose?
Is this content to inform our audience, educate them, or entertain them?

Note: these strategies are not mutually exclusive; to educate and entertain is an aspirational goal.

The image above outlines each area to consider when creating content. Addressing these fundamentals helps with the storyboarding, or wireframing phase of the project.

Next, we have to identify the budget options to align with our strategy. Having a content strategy matrix shows us the options we have to create low or high impact content within a low or high impact budget.

Lastly, with the budget and strategy clearly defined, we then assign a team to design. Understanding the relationships between the professional creatives involved on a project will prevent any questions of responsibility for the creation of the content.
